Edo Assembly: My Purported Impeachment as Deputy Speaker Childish –  Hon. Victor Edoror

By Chibuike Nwabuko

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Deputy Speaker of  Edo State House of  Assembly, Rt Hon Victor Edoror has described his purported impeachment by four members of the House as laughable and childish.

Edoror disclosed this on Monday in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Oriaifoh Godwin sent to Sundiata Post.

The statement reads In full:

“Today, Monday 22nd October, 2018, four Members out of a total of Twenty four representing different Constituencies in Edo state, claimed to have impeached the Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon Victor Sabor Edoror in a humorous and childish sitting.

The purported impeachment, led by the Speaker of the House, and four others who claimed sixteen of the twenty four Members signed the impeachment notice, was vehemently opposed by some other members, as the Deputy Speaker stood and asked each of the members on their seats if they signed the purported impeachment notice of which they all responded in the negative.

I wish to inform the members of the public that the so called impeachment was a kangaroo impeachment that today, turned Edo State House of Assembly to House of humour.

The Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Victor Sabor Edoror, is currently on top of the issue as well meaning leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, have wadded into the matter to call the four eering members to order.

It was, however, learnt that the impeachment may not be unconnected with an alleged plot by some All Progressives Congress members from the Edo Central Senatorial district to remove the Speaker, Mr. Kabiru Adjoto, who hails from Edo North.
