Delta Govt. Pledges Support To IPAC To Deepen Democracy

Asaba,   –     The Delta Government has pledged support to and partnership with Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) to strengthened the ideals of democracy.

Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa made the pledge on Friday in Asaba when the new executives of the state chapter of IPAC paid him a courtesy visit.

Okowa, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Festus Agas, said his administration would continue to provide a level playing field for all political stakeholders in the state.

He expressed his belief in democracy and reiterated his support for a multi-party system in the country.

Okowa said that Delta was safe and peaceful, adding that the state government would continue to provide an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

The governor, who congratulated the new executives of IPAC on their successful election, urged them to sustain the cordial relationship existing in council in the state.

The leader of the group and National Chairman of IPAC, Chief Peter Ameh, commended the governor for the peaceful relationship between the ruling PDP and other parties in the state.

Ameh pledged continued support of IPAC to Okowa’s administration to enable it to deliver good governance to the people of the state.

He also promised to work with relevant authorities in the state to ensure that the forth coming 2019 general elections would be free, fair and credible.
