Gov. Inuwa Moves to Revamp Agric Sector, Takes Delivery of 100 Trucks of Fertilizer

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has taken steps to revamp the Agricultural sector in the state in line with his campaign promise and commitment to the good people of the state.

The Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to Gombe State Governor, Ismaila Uba Misilli who dropped the hint in a statement on Wednesday, informed that the government has taken delivery of over 100 trucks, equivalent to 60,000 bags of fertilizer already.

He stressed that the Gombe state government will on Saturday flag-off sales and distribution of fertilizers for farmers in the state for this year’s cropping season.

Accordingto him, “Gombe State Government is to flag-off sales/ distribution of fertilizers for farmers in the state for this year’s cropping season on Saturday, 29th June, 2019.

“Recall that the Governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya had constituted a taskforce under the chairmanship of the Programme Manager, Gombe State Agricultural Development Programme, Mr. Laban Binus to ensure proper, timely and orderly distribution of the fertilizers to farmers across the eleven Local Government Areas of the State at Government approved price.

“Already the government has taken delivery of over 100 trucks, equivalent to 60,000 bags and more are still coming, following directives by Governor Inuwa Yahaya for immediate procurement and sales/distribution of fertilizers to farmers. Each Local Government gets an allocation of at least 10 trucks in the first instance for its farmers.

“The gesture is part of the Governor’s determination to revamp the Agricultural sector in the state in line with his campaign promise and commitment to the good people of the state,the statement read.
