Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed on Monday paid a courtesy visit to Sheik Gumi at his official residence in Kaduna as part of his consultations ahead of the 2023 general election.

Obi who hinted of the visit via his twitter handle @PeterObi tweeted: ” Datti Baba-Ahmed and I stopped by for a courtesy call on Sheikh Gumi at his official residence in Kaduna. -PO”
Obi has distinguoshed himself and has exhibited patriotism, pan Aftricanism and detribalised in his conduct and utterances since the embargo on electioneering campaign was lifted by the independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Sundiata Post recalls that the presidential candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar have been caught in the web of ethnic politics.
While Tinubu was quoted as saying “it’s the turn of Yorubas to produce the next President of Nigeria and it is his turn, Atiku was captured in video calling on northerners to vote for him because he is from the north but that they should not vote for a candidate from Igbo or Yoruba.

In the contrary, Peter Obi told Igbos not to vote for him because he is from Igbo, but to vote for him on the basis of his competence and integrity, adding that 2023 is not anybody’s turn but the turn of Nigerians.
