YENAGOA (Sundiata Post) – Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Uduak Udom, has stated that the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has answers to the myriad of problems bedeviling the nation.
Udom, who stated this in Yenagoa at the weekend during the inauguration of LP state secretariat, explained that it was the reason why Nigerians are yearning for Obi to be president in 2023.
His words: “Everybody is yearning for Peter Obi. We know that he has what Nigeria needs. Nigeria needs a man of proven integrity, a man that can deliver, and who else do we have apart from Peter Obi?
“He talks about industrialisation, he talks about capacity development. Nigerians need someone that will eradicate poverty and Peter Obi will do that for us. He is not just saying it, he has done it before when he was a governor and we know he will do it again.”
The LP state chairman in Bayelsa State, Mr. Eneyi Zidougha, said Nigerians no longer look at political parties, but the persons of the respective candidates and what they have to offer.
Zidougha disclosed that over 70 support groups are working to ensure victory of all the party candidates in the forthcoming general elections and that Obi is a great miracle happening to Nigeria.
The Bayelsa State Coordinator of Labour Party Presidential Campaign Organisation, Mr. Morris Alagoa said he and his team are working tirelessly to deliver Obi who is receiving acceptance from members and supporters of other political parties.
Alagoa stated: “It is indeed gladdening to hear people calling in every now and then that they belong to other political parties, but that they are going to vote for Peter Obi in the presidential election.
“We are working assiduously to ensure that even though we are not going to throw dollars, we will convince the people that they need to sacrifice and release themselves from slavery and if they must do that it means they have to give away something and that is to vote their minds.”
