ABUJA – Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, former Governor of Edo State and former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has joined the race for the 2023 presidential ticket of the party.
Oshiomhole kept the plan secret until Friday morning (today) when he sent out invitation to the event.
The invitation sent via WhatsApp to THE CONCLAVE bore the imprimatur of Victor Oshioke on behalf of “Restructure The Change 2023”, the campaign organisation of Conrade Oshiomhole.
Oshiomhole had earlier been pressured by his people to contest for the Edo North Senatorial seat ticket on the APC platform.
He had initially caved in and had vowed to dislodge the incumbent Senator Francis Alimikhena who is seeking a third term in the Senate from the Upper Legislative chamber.
Alimikhena is seeking a third term to the displeasure of some critical stakeholders in Edo North who believe that only Oshiomhole could dislodge him given the magnitude of the political and electoral goodwill he enjoys in the Senatorial zone.
Oshiomhole’s out-of-the-blue declaration for the president will be consummated Friday (April 29, 2022) evening in Abuja.
The venue of the event, which is expected to attract significant attention from calibre politicians and well wishers is Cyrprian Ekwensi Centre for Arts and Culture, Area 10, Abuja. The event kicks off at 3pm. (TheConclave)
