2023 presidency: Rabiu Kwankwaso dumps PDP

Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso

ABUJA – A presidential aspirant and former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Reports says Kwankwaso will on Wednesday officially join the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Sundiata Post findings indicate that he is expected to pursue his 2023 presidential ambition in NNPP.

One of the former governor’s associates made this known saying, “I can inform you that he is heading to the NNPP. His letter of resignation from the PDP was delivered to his ward in Kano today.”

Part of the letter reads, “It is with deep sense of responsibility that I write to notify you, that as a result of some serious and irreconcilable differences, I have reached the conclusion that my continued stay in the PDP is untenable and therefore effective from today, Tuesday 29th day of March, 2022, I have withdrawn my membership form the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP”.

Kwankwaso is a former Minister of Defence. He also served as a senator under the All Progressives Congress (APC), representing Kano Central between 2015 – 2019.

Kwankwaso’s exit from the PDP is coming less than 48 hours after his in-law and protégé Abba Kabir Yusuf crossed to the NNPP. (Journalist101)
