LAGOS – Twenty one ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other commodities have arrived Lagos ports waiting to berth, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said on Friday in Lagos.
This is contained in the NPA’s daily publication – `Shipping Position’ made available to newsmen.
According to the document, four of the ships sailed in with kerosene, five contain petrol, while five others brought in diesel and base oil.
It stated that seven ships arrived with food items like rice, frozen fish and bulk sugar.
The document indicated that 54 other ships were expected to sail into the ports from Dec. 5 to Dec. 22.
It said that 20 of the expected ships would arrive with containers, while 15 others would bring in foods like rice, bulk malt, buckwheat, bulk sugar and frozen fish.
The document stated that general cargo would arrive in 10 ships, petroleum products in eight ships, while one other ship would sail in with 550 units of vehicles. (NAN)
