LAGOS – Twenty four ships laden with containerised goods are expected to arrive the Lagos Ports between Nov. 7 and Nov. 27, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said on Friday in Lagos.
NPA, in its daily publication – `Shipping Position’ – made available to newsmen, said that two ships would arrive with used vehicles, seven with bulk rice, and 13 others with petroleum products.
According to the document, 19 other ships are expected to sail in with food items.
“The food items include bulk sugar, buckwheat, general cargo, bulk gypsum, bulk charcoal, bulk fertilizer, base oil and crude palm oil,’’ NPA said.
It said that the ships would sail into the Apapa Bulk Terminal, ENL Consortium, the APM Terminals, among others.
NPA said that 22 ships were discharging containers of various goods; general cargo, bulk sugar, buckwheat, bulk rice, bulk soya beans, bulk malt, base oil and petroleum products.
It said that 14 ships containing petroleum products and food items were already at the ports, waiting to berth.
The NPA said four of the ships waiting to berth were laden with petrol; while three others contained diesel, kerosene and aviation fuel.
It said two others had general cargo and bulk gypsum on board.
The NPA, however, said three other ships had arrived with buckwheat and two others with bulk rice. (NAN)
