Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Former Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on social media, Pastor Reno Omokri has faulted the claim of President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government that it has zero tolerance for corruption and doing everything possible to eradicate it by outlined reasons why he believed that the letter accusing the Group Managing Director of NNPC of corruption will not be given attention by President Buhari.
Reno who reminded that corruption cases where senior members of President Buhari’s government were mentioned are pointers that the administration is neck deep in corruption, added that this can only be visible when president Buhari leaves office.
According to him, these officers fingered in corruption related activities are still walking free and nothing has been done to try them.
He mentioned such officials as Amaechi, Babachir, Oke and now Barru.
Sundiata Post recalls that in April, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) stormed a residential building on the 7th floor of a four-bedroom apartment at Osborne Towers located at 16 Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, where it discovered foreign currencies and naira notes to the tune of $43.4m, £27,800 and N23.2m where some of these officials’ names were mentioned as being privy to the money.
The former Special Adviser said, with the $26billion corruption exposed in NNPC alone, who knows what is going on in NPA, NCC and NERC.
He said President Buhari promised Nigeria that his government has come to fix Nigeria but that Kachikwu’s exposition has shown that his government has come to steal, kill and destroy.
Reno who ruled out the possibility of President Buhari punishing Baru, asked Nigerians not to expect anything from the alarm raised by the Minister of State, Ibe Kachikwu, recalling that the way Babachir Lawal and Ikoyi cases were pooh-poohed and abandoned, same way, Kachikwu’s case against NNPC GMD, Baru will also be jettisoned.
He reiterated that Kachikwu who did not understand the difference between 97% and 5%, must have learnt that now at the cost of $26billion.
The former Special Adviser who took to tweeter on Wednesday said, “Anti-corruption my foot. Amaechi, Babachir, Oke and now Baru. $26 billion contracts awarded without due process. What a corrupt government!
“$26 billion corruption exposed in NNPC. Who knows what’s going on in NPA, NCC & NERC. You won’t know PMB’s corruption till he leaves power!
President @MBuhari told Nigerians his government came to fix Nigeria. But thanks to Kachikwu we now know it came to STEAL, KILL and DESTROY!
Those waiting for President @MBuhari to deal with Baru will wait long. Has he dealt with Babachir or Ikoyi billions? Anticorruption my foot!
If Ibe Kachikwu does not understand the difference between 97% and 5%, I bet you that he has learnt his lesson at the cost of $26 billion!
Sundiata Post further recalls that the senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial district, Comrade Shehu Sani had once accused the executive of fighting corruption in the executive with deodorant but fighting it in the legislature with insecticide.
The Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachikwu has petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari complaining and tabulating the breach of procedures by the NNPC Group Managing Director, , Dr Maikanti Baru, in the areas of appointment in the corporation and especially awarding of contract to the tune of $26billion without due process and recourse to his office as stipulated by law.
