Lagos – Three men, who allegedly stole 250 metre of armoured cables valued N2 million, were on Tuesday charged before an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The accused, Elias Odinya, 37; Bolarin Ariyo, 37 and Abdullahi Suleman 25 are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Esther Adesulu, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Feb. 22 at Agoro Diyan Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.
She said that they stole 250 metres of armoured cable belonging to Federal Ministry of Communication.

Adesulu said the offences contravened Sections 285, 326 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, were granted bail in the sum of N200, 000 each with one surety each in like sum.
The Magistrate, Mr P. A. Adekomaiya advised the Federal Ministry of Communication to retrieve its armoured cables which were not in use to avoid being stolen.
“This is a second case involving the alleged theft of communication cables; if the cables are not in use, they should be removed to avoid being stolen,” he said.
Adekomaiya, who granted the accused bail, ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and adjourned the case till March 22 for mention. (NAN)
