Badagry – Three men, Jide Shittu, 41, Saidu Wahabi, 50, and Biodun Sekolo, 40, were on Wednesday brought before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, for allegedly stealing property worth N2.2 million.
The three men, who have no fixed address, are standing trial for conspiracy and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Akpan Ikem, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Aug. 30, 2018, at Ago Yusuf area of Ilogbo Eremi Town, Badagry.
According to Ikem, the accused stole 495 pieces of iron rods valued at N1 million, wooden doors worth N280,000 and 55 pieces of window glasses valued at N750,000.
Ikem added that they stole one generator worth N185, 000 and a wheel barrow valued at N35,000.
He said that all the property belonged to one Mrs Adeyinka Oladosu.
“The total value of the property stolen is N2.250,000,’’ he said.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Patrick Adekomaya, granted them bail in the sum of N300,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.
The case was adjourned until Jan. 30, for hearing.
