LAGOS – Three men, accused of beating their victims and dispossessing them of some valuables, were on Friday brought before an Ojokoro Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
The defendants: Yau Ibrahim 18; Hariru Umar, 26, and Abdullah Sarki, 27, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, assault and theft.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge. [eap_ad_1] The Prosecutor, Insp. Lugard Ahonle, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on Aug. 24 at Redeemed Bus-Stop, AIT Road, Alagbado, Lagos at 11: 00 p.m.
“The defendants and others are now at large, while armed with broken bottles, attacked Mr Yemi Aremu and Miss Adenike Aremu,
“The defendants beat up their victims and dispossessed them of valuables worth N150, 000, ‘’ Ahonle said.
According to the charge sheet, the offences contravened Sections 171, 285 and 295 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Magistrate O. A. Layinka granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50, 000 each, with one surety each in like sum.
She subsequently adjourned the case till Sept. 19, for trial. (NAN)
