Lagos, – Three men who unlawfully entered a warehouse and allegedly stole pharmaceutical products valued at N259.8 million, were on Tuesday arraigned in an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The defendants: Sunday Ogbaje,39, and Akeem Olaitan,44, are facing trial on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, break-in and stealing, while Solomon Olaniyi, 60, was docked for receiving stolen items.
The accused persons, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr Innocent Anyigor, told the court that the offences were committed sometime in September and October 2016, at NAFSAT Close, Aswani, Isolo, Lagos.
Anyigor said that the defendants unlawfully entered the warehouse of Green Life Pharmaceutical Limited and stole various cartons of tablets, capsules, injections, syrups and creams valued at N259.8 million.
He said that Olaniyi, allegedly received the stolen items from Ogbaje and Olaitan.
The offences contravened the provisions of Sections 287, 308, 328 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Adedayo, granted each of the accused person bail in the sum of N20 million, with two sureties each in like sum.
The case was adjourned until Oct. 29, for mention.
