Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Armed men suspected to be Oil thieves on Tuesday invaded Kolo Police Station in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State, killing three Police officers.
Spokesman of the Police, Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the attack, informed that the Police command lost three of its men in the attack.
An eyewitness told Channels TV that the incident was carried out by suspected oil thieves.
The Police have ordered reinforcement to the area.
This incident is coming few days after military officers were ambushed and killed in a village in Ekeremor local government area.
Sundiata Post recalls that Bayelsa State governor, Hon Seriake Dickson described the Ekeremor killing as politically motivated killing.
The high rate of attacks on security agents in the line of duty has been on the increase and a source of concern.
Recently, Inspector General Of Police, Ibrahim Idris expressed concerns over the indiscriminate killings, revealing that the force recorded the loss of 128 policemen within three months.
