Kathmandu – Police said 39 people died after a U.S.-Bangla Airlines passenger plane crashed at Kathmandu’s international airport on Monday.
“We found the dead bodies of 31 passengers in the plane,” Nepal Police spokesman Manoj Neupane said.
Neupane said eight of the 31 people evacuated from the plane with injuries and taken to a nearby hospital also died.
The plane, which had departed from the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka, crashed during its landing at the Kathmandu airport.
There were 71 people on the aircraft, including 67 passengers and four crew members.
