IBADAN – A 46th minute goal by Jacob Ogunleye was all hosts 3SC needed at the Adamasingba Sports Complex in Ibadan on Wednesday to secure victory over visiting Sharks FC Port Harcourt.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the scorer latched on to a through pass to send the ball to the far post to give the hosts the full points.
NAN reports that the match was a Match Day 15 fixture in the 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
All efforts by Sharks to level score, including the introduction of three strikers in a row, failed to yield fruits as the hosts defence proved to be equal to the task.
Speaking after the match, Gbenga Ogunbote, the 3SC coach, attributed the victory to hard work and focus.
“I saw victory coming, based on the changes I effected in the team recently,’’ he said.
NAN reports 3SC have now played five matches in a row, since after Ogunbote replaced the now sacked Franklin Howard, and are yet to record any loss.
The coach however promised to continue the victory run, especially when the team clash with FC Ifeanyi Ubah FC this weekend.

However, Sharks’ coach Daboere Dokubo blamed his side’s defeat on poor officiating, saying the result would have been different if the referee had been fair.(NAN)
