Makkah (Saudi Arabia) – Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has so far transported 4, 369 pilgrims for the 2016 Hajj back home.
A statement from Alhaji Abdullahi Bayero, Chairman Media Sub-committee of the state 2016 Hajj Delegation, disclosed that the figure represented about 80 per cent of the entire pilgrims from the state.
It stated that the eighth flight arrived Kaduna on Sunday morning via Med-view with 449 pilgrims, while the ninth with 500 pilgrims and the 10th with 446 pilgrims arrived on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.
According to the statement, the pilgrims for the 11th flight would be screened after the Friday prayer and moved to the King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah en route Kaduna.
”I will appeal to the remaining pilgrims to be patient and cooperate with the airline officials in order to ensure a successful transportation back home.
“We appreciate the conduct of this year’s pilgrims since no adverse reports was given on them,” the statement quoted Bayero as saying.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a total of 5,575 pilgrims from Kaduna State performed the 2016 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
