Lagos – Four staff of Silhouette Travels Agency on Friday appeared before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, over alleged theft of N40 million.
The accused are: Anuoluwapo Akinbonmi, 29; Oyindamola Adeyemi-Brown, 32; Olufunke Olaegbe, 36; and Olumide Lawal, 34.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Kehinde Olatunde, said the accused and others still at large committed the offences sometime in December, 2014 at Silhouette Travels Ltd., No. 859, Bishop Aboyade Cole, off Ademola Adetokunbo St., Victoria Island, Lagos.
Olatunde said that the accused, who were employees of the company, conspired and converted N40 million belonging to the company to their personal use.
He said the offences contravened Sections 285(7) and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences.
Chief Magistrate Bola Folarin-Williams granted each of the accused N2 million bail with two sureties each in like sum who must be blood relations.
Folarin-Williams ordered that one of the sureties of each of the accused must deposit N200,000 into the account of the Chief Registrar of the court and must be working in a reputable organisation within the Ikeja district.
She ordered that the sureties must also show evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government and have their addresses verified by the prosecutor.
The case was adjourned till July 6 for mention. (NAN)
