LAGOS – Four commercial motorcyclists, who allegedly planned to burn a police station, were on Monday brought before a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The accused: Junaidu Esiagu, 18; Usman Mohammed, 25; Rabiu Kabiru, 32; and Bala Sada, 21, are being tried for breach of peace.
They, however, pleaded not guilty. [eap_ad_1] But the prosecutor, Insp. Gabriel Ekundayo, insisted that the accused committed the offence on Aug. 16 at Surulere Police Station.
He alleged that the accused had threatened to burn down the station if their members, who were arrested for plying some restricted routes, were not released.
Ekundayo said the offence contravened Section 166 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.N. Ojuromi, in her ruling, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case to Sept. 16 for mention. (NAN)
