400 women benefit from NLC empowerment programmes in Edo

Benin – Four hundred women benefitted from various empowerment programmes organised to mark this year’s international women’s day in Edo, according to Daisy Osunde, Chairperson, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Women Committee.

Osunde stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday, shortly after the closing ceremony of a  three-day Master Class empowerment programme in Benin.

According to her, the women we

re trained in Gele Tying, Makeover, Bread Making, and Catering.

“The training started on Tuesday, 

March 12, and a certificate of attendance was awarded to each participant,” she said.

She said that the empowerment programme was mainly practical to enable the women participate fully.

Osunde said that the purpose of the empowerment programme was to assist participants to generate additional income to support their families. (NAN)
