Kaduna – Activities at the Kaduna 41st International Trade Fair began to pick up on Tuesday, after the lull experienced since its commencement.
The fair, organised by the Kaduna Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), opened on Feb. 28 and will run till March 8.
It has the theme: “Unlocking Nigeria’s Economic Potential Through Regional Integration”.
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the trade fair complex, located at Kaduna-Zaria Road, Rigachikun, Kaduna State, on Tuesday witnessed high turnout unlike in the past days.
At the main gate of the trade fair ground, people were seen trooping in, while some exhibitors were also offloading their goods, as others put finishing touches to their stands in the arena.
Some stands on the fair ground, such as that of Dangote Company, were full of activities as customers were seen viewing and buying items.
Similarly the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC ) stand was also a beehive, with people making various enquiries.
Many students were also seen queueing at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) stand, just as the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation stand was still booming.
NAN reports that security agencies were on ground, ensuring the safety of lives and property .
At other stands, some exhibitors also displayed goods, and shared their experience.
Mr Chidi Emmanuel, one of the vendors who sold kitchen utensils, told NAN that sales were gradually picking up.
”As at yesterday, we recorded low sales, but as you can see, we have good turnout today,” he said .
Hajiya Maryam Garba, who said she came all the way from Borno State, however, expressed hope that sales would get better.
