5 docked for armed robbery, rape in Kano

KANO – Five men were on Thursday arraigned in a Noman’s Land Magistrates’ Court, Kano, for alleged armed robbery and rape.
The accused, Yakubu Abdullahi, Ado Abdulrahman, Shaibu Gambo, Yahuza illyasu and Likita Malam, live at different neighboring villages.
According to the first information report, the case was reported at Tudun Wada Police Division on Nov. 16, by one Alhaji Basiru Abdulkarim of Burum village, Tudun Wada Local Govt Area, Kano state.
The report said Abdulkarim reported that the accused robbed him of four cell phones, a bed sheet and about N2.46 million cash.
Abdulkarim said the accused had after robbing him, forcefully had carnal knowledge of his two wives, Hadiza Basiru and Lami Basiru.
The offense contravened sections 6 (a,b,1) and 283 of the penal code.
The accused, however, denied the charges and the presiding magistrate, Ibrahim Khaleel, ordered them to be remanded in prison custody.
Khaleel adjourned the case until to Dec. 31, for further mention (NAN]
