5 more U.S. soldiers in S/Korea test positive for COVID-19

Seoul  -Five more .S. in have tested positive for -19 amid lingering worry about virus spread, .S. Forces Korea (USFK) said Monday.


USFK said in a statement that five USFK members were confirmed to be infected after arriving in between Sept. 10 and Sept. 25.


Four members arrived at Osan Air Base .S. government-chartered flights from .S. Sept. 10, 23, 24 and 25.


The Osan Air Base is located in Pyeongtaek, 70 km of the capital, Seoul.

The five have been transferred to designated facilities at Camp Humphreys in Pyeongtaek.


The number of infections among the USFK-affiliated rose to 198, according to the Yonhap News Agency.


Worries remain in the country the spread of the -19. In the latest tally, reported 50 more confirmed -19 in the last 24 hours, raising the tally to 23,661.


“In spite of the recent confirmed , USFK remains at a high level of readiness less than per cent of its active-duty service members currently confirmed positive COVID-19,” the USFK said.
