LAGOS – Fifty six ships laden with containers, foods, petroleum products and other goods are expected to arrive in Lagos ports from Dec. 22 to Dec. 30.
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) made the disclosure in its daily publication “Shipping Position” on Monday in Lagos.
According to the document, 25 of the expected ships will arrive with containers of different goods.
It alsñ disclosed that eight other ships were expected to arrive with petroleum products like petrol, bulk gas, kerosene and diesel.
The document explained that six ships containing fresh fish were also expected.
It said that the remaining 17 ships would arrive with crude palm oil, buckwheat, bulk sugar, bulk salt, crude palm oil, bulk fertiliser, bulk steel products, bulk charcoal, bulk rice and general cargo.
The document indicated that six ships had arrived the ports, waiting to berth with foods like bulk rice, bulk malt, bulk gypsum and bulk fertiliser.
It added that 16 other ships laden with petroleum products were also waiting to berth at the various oil terminals in the ports.
The document stated that 12 of the 16 ships were being expected to arrive with petrol, while the remaining four ships would berth with kerosene, base oil and aviation fuel.
It noted that 21 other ships were discharging cargo like buckwheat, bulk rice, general cargo, fresh fish, base oil, crude palm, fertiliser and petroleum products. (NAN)
