LAGOS – Fifty seven ships laden with containers, foods, petroleum products and other commodities are to arrive Lagos ports from Dec. 4 to Dec. 20, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said this in its daily publication -`Shipping Position’ – made available to newsmen on Thursday in Lagos.
The document showed that 23 of the expected ships would arrive with containers of different goods.
It stated that 11 other ships were expected to arrive with petroleum products like petrol, aviation fuel, kerosene and diesel.
The document showed that five ships containing bulk rice are also being expected.
The publication stated that 23 other ships would arrive with crude palm oil, buck wheat, used vehicles, bulk sugar, bulk fertilizer, bulk gypsium, steel products, bulk malt, fresh fish and general cargo.
It stated that 10 ships had arrived the ports, waiting to berth with food items such as; bulk rice, fresh fish, used vehicles, buckwheat, containers, bulk sugar and bulk fertiliser.
The document explained that 13 other ships were also waiting to berth at the various oil terminals in the ports with petroleum products, mostly petrol (PMS).
It noted that 28 other ships are discharging cargoes like buck wheat, bulk rice, base oil, ethanol, bulk sugar, general cargo, fertiliser and petroleum product. (NAN)
