ONITSHA – A renowned cleric, Rev. Uma Ukpai, on Wednesday lauded President Goodluck Jonathan for strengthening the Nigerian armed forces in their fight against Boko Haram.
Ukpai, who is the President of Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Onitsha, Anambra that he foresaw total victory for the armed forces soon.
“Insurgency is not something new in the world; it is overall the world.
“But, remember that our army was weakened to avoid coup. And in that state of weaken; they couldn’t have been able to banish Boko Haram with a wave of the hand.
“But now that government is re-arming them and help has come from Cameroon, from Niger, from Chad; which I think is the result of our prayer for this country.
“As soon as we begun to pray for this nation; the army regained the initiative; they are doing marvelously well.
“Already, they have recaptured so many local government areas in that area; it calls for celebration, it calls for song and dance.
“Will it (insurgency) continue? It will not because the army now progressively be re-armed.
