Abuja Sundiata Post – Pro Chancellor and Chairman, Governing Council of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA, Sen. Prof. Nora Ladi Daduut has said she remains committed to supporting the delivery of quality education to young people in the Nation.
She made this known while speaking at a thanksgiving Mass celebrated in honour of her appointment as the Pro Chancellor of FUTA by the Federal Government at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kwalla district of Quanpan local government council of Plateau State.
Daduut who represented Plateau South Senatorial District at the 9th National Assembly stressed that Education remains the bedrock of development of any nation, adding that it must be made attractive for everyone especially the downtrodden.
“I also have plans to partner with the Church in my community to give priority to child education because they are the future of the nation”.
Daduut also stressed that investing in girl-child education will boost the nation’s development and progress.
“Educating the girl-child provides the platform for her to be an advocate and catalyst for positive change.
“Government is doing its best but we have to support them to ensure a better society “.
Every parent should ensure that their children or wards attend and complete their primary and secondary school education.
Daduut however called on the private sector and individuals to support President Bola Tinubu administration in revolutionizing the educational sector.
Appreciating the President for her appointment as Pro Chancellor, she commended the management, staff, students, and all stakeholders of the Institution for making it a leading light among higher institutions in Nigeria and beyond, saying that she would do everything possible to further uplift the University.
She also commended the First Lady, Sen. Remi Tinubu, for her efforts at ensuring that every Nigerian child has access to quality education.
She also appreciated the people of Plateau South for standing by her while in the Senate.
Speaking earlier, the Parish Priest of Saint Patrick’s Church Kwala. Rev Father James Dasat lauded Senator Daduut’s quest to better the society.
He highlighted the Senator’s initiatives and impact towards improved education in the country and called on her to continue to be a blessing to the Younger generation
