AKURE (SUNDIATA POST)- An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Ondo State, Mr Gbenga Eleduma, has expressed confidence that Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, if elected governor, would take the state to the next level.
Aiyedatiwa, a deputy to Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu during his second term in office, was inaugurated governor following the demise of the latter on Dec. 26, 2023,
He subsequently won the APC primary as the party’s candidate in the Nov. 16, Ondo State Governorship poll.
Eleduma, in a statement made available to newsmen in Akure on Thursday, said that the governor had no ‘serious’ opposition and would emerge victorious in the election.
He said that the governor had big plans to take the state to the next level if elected in the election.
“With all intents and purposes, the governor will take the state to the next level of development.
“His passion to develop the state is unparalleled, and his dedication to the welfare of the people is evident in every initiative.
“ The governor has what it takes to propel the state forward. The vision of Mr Governor for Ondo State is to transform it into Nigeria’s leading hub for entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology.
“This goal is already taking shape through initiatives like the ‘ONDEA My IDEA 2.0 Competition’, which fosters an environment where young entrepreneurs can thrive and shine nationally and globally,” Eleduma stated.
According to him, Aiyedatiwa recognises the significant role entrepreneurship and innovation play in economic growth, and their potential to reshape the state’s economy and elevate its people’s lives.
He said that the governor has a resolve to build strong infrastructure in the state.
“As we speak, Gov. Aiyedatiwa has just flagged off the construction of the 11.9-km Molege-Agunbiade Road in Owo, marking a significant milestone in his administration’s infrastructure development agenda.
“This project is expected to boost farming and economic activities, improve transportation networks, and enhance the quality of life for residents in the area.
“This is not an isolated initiative; the governor has been actively investing in road infrastructure across Ondo State,” he said. (NAN)
