HADEJIA – The Jigawa State Agricultural Supply Company (JASCO) said on Friday that it had rehabilitated 30 agricultural stores to enhance its outreach in rural communities.
Its General Manager, Alhaji Hassan Girbobo, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Hadejia, Jigawa.
He said that the projects were executed in the last three years.
Girbobo said some of the projects were located in Gujungu, Bulangu and Kanya-Babale, adding that the measure was to ensure adequate supply of fertiliser, seeds, chemicals and other inputs.

He said that the company had also planned to set up 60 sales outlets in the 27 local government areas of the state in enhancing farmers’ access to inputs.
“This is part of the drive to expand the scope of the supply channels and enhance farmer access to quality inputs,” he said.
Girbobo explained that the company had established 20 seed out-grower farms and a processing centre to boost production of quality seeds.
The manager said that the company had adopted effective strategies to encourage mechanisation of agriculture and development of farmers’ enterprising skills. (NAN)
