Kano – Mr Faiz Alfindiki, a Kano-based economic expert, has commended Gov. Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa for his visit to the Republic of China to woo investors to his state.
The economic Consultant made the commendation while briefing newsmen in Kano on Monday.
Alfindiki, who is a member of Centre for International Economic and Political Analysis, said Badaru deserved commendation for the visit which he said, was aimed at bringing development to his state.
He recalled that while the governor was in China, he visited a number places including Jiangsu Wallong-Hsin Import and Export Corporation Ltd.
He also said that during the visit to the company, Badaru was reported to have placed some orders for the procurement of agricultural machinery.
‘’The equipment he ordered include; walking tractors wheels, combined harvesters, mist blowers, rice transplanters, sprayers and other agricultural equipment,’’ he said.
Alfindiki also commended the governor for his plan to establish sugar and paper pulp factories in Jigawa.
‘’Badaru’s special interest in power supply prompted him to visit Solar and Low Power electrical equipment manufacturers at DAOO Group.

‘’The governor has already promised to partner with the company for the improvement of the power sector in the state,” said.
He also commended Gov. Badaru for his plan to address the problem of typha grass which is bedeviling the Hadejia/Jama’are River.
Alfindiki said that the governor was reported to have held discussions with some Chinese industrialists on how to tackle the menace.
He, therefore, called on other Northern state governors to emulate Gov. Badaru’s laudable programmes which according to him, are aimed at checking youths unemployment and restiveness among other problems, in the region. (NAN)
