Yenagoa – Gov. Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa, on Wednesday said the state would witness more grassroots development if he was re-elected.
He made the promise in Yenagoa at the beginning of his house-to-house campaign ahead of the Dec. 5 gubernatorial election.
Dickson said that road construction, especially the streets, would be his top priority if the electorate gave him a second term.
Addressing the Swali community in the state capital, he said that he was ready to do more in ensuring that the change desired by the people was attained.
“Firstly, I have to thank God for what we have achieved so far in this present administration; the ‘restoration government’ led by me has done well in the health sector, agriculture, education, among others.
“I am here today to tell you, my brothers that I can do it more in the quest to make Bayelsa the Jerusalem of our own; we cannot allow any bad politician to come in as governor.
“I promise you all that the issue of road construction, especially the street roads, will be number one on my priorities if elected again; this is the time to say no to other parties,” he said.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate told the community that “our dear state belongs to the PDP and the party will continue to rule.

“We will continue to maintain our stand by saying ‘no vacancy for other parties in the Creek Heaven’,” he said.
A leader in the community, Mr Jerry Moses, urged the governor to include healthcare as parts of his restoration agenda.
Moses assured that the community would give the governor and PDP 100 per cent vote. (NAN)
