Lagos – An Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State on Friday granted bail to a musician, Promise Sunday, 25, charged with stealing N20, 000 from a female friend.
Sunday, who resides at No. 2, Holy Ghost St., Agric, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, had pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs O. Sule Amzat, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N10, 000 with a reliable surety.
She said that the address of the surety, who should be gainfully employed, must be verified by a court official.
Amzat adjourned the case to Dec. 22 for mention.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt Lucky Ihiehie had told the court that the defendant committed the offence at Sharp Corner Hotel, Mile 12.
He said that the complainant, Mrs David Princess, reported the matter at Mile 12 Police Post.
“She said that on Nov 10, the defendant knowing her ATM PIN, took her First Bank ATM card and went to withdraw N20, 000 without her consent.

“It was when she received an alert on her phone that she realised what the defendant had done.
“She confronted him and demanded for the money but he refused to give her the money,’’ the prosecutor said.
