Kano (Kano State) -The Kano State Government, on Thursday condemned the suicide bomb attack which occurred at GSM Market in Tarauni Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.
Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje made the condemnation when he paid a sympathy visit to the people of the area.
He said the state government would continue to work with security agencies to bring an end to the attacks.
According to him, government will not relent in its efforts to ensure the safety of the people and assured and that the Federal Government is taking necessary measures to put an end to the insurgency.
The governor also commended security agencies for their efforts as the security situation in the state had improved. He, however, urged them to step up surveillance to forestall further attacks by insurgents and criminals.
He said that the state government would reconstruct and modernise the market.
“The state government would collaborate with the market leaders to re-design and modernise the market to make it more conducive”, he said.
Ganduje also assured that the state government would take care of the medical bills of the injured persons on admission at various hospitals in the metropolis.
The governor called on the people of the state to continue to cooperate with security agencies in order to check the excesses of criminals in the society.
“People should be security-conscious of their environment and promptly alert security agencies nearest to them of any suspicious movement”, he added.
Ganduje condoled with the families of those who lost their loved ones and prayed for the quick recovery of those injured.

Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Muhammad Katsina, described the incident as a murderous mission by the suicide bombers.
Katsina said the police had been able to get necessary clue to track down the culprits.
He also called on residents to continue to be more vigilant wherever they lived and report any suspected character to security agents for appropriate action.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that about 15 people lost their lives, while over 90 others were injured.
NAN also reports that Ganduje was accompanied by the heads of the various security agencies in the state. (NAN)
