WASHINGTON – The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) said in Washington on Monday that Government had sent a disaster assistance response team to help coordinate the humanitarian aid being sent to Iraq.
Rajiv Shah, Director of USAID, said the team would work with local officials, the international community and humanitarian relief organisations to identify humanitarian needs and speed up the response.
