Ambursa (Kebbi) – A late night inferno on Monday in Ambursa village, Kebbi, has resulted in the deaths of nine family members.
Gov. Atiku Bagudu led top government functionaries, politicians and well wishers to offer the Salatul Jana’iza prayers for the dead on Tuesday, after he had condoled with the family of the deceased.
Abubakar Danlabo, head of the household, disclosed in tears that his wife, four males and four females died in the inferno that also consumed household property, foodstuff and livestock.
The sole administrator of the Birnin Kebbi Local Government Council, Alhaji Aliyu Ambursa, described the inferno as an act of God.

He added that the bereaved family would be supported by the government to resume a normal life.
The district head of the area, Isa Haruna, called on the people to always ensure that the cooking areas in their households were located far away from hay and other inflammable materials. (NAN)
