Kano – Four students hostels at Government Secondary School Gwarzo in Kano State have been razed down by fire on Tuesday, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
Eye witnesses told NAN in Kano on Wednesday that the incident happened when students of the school were in their classes.
According to the witnesses, the fire also destroyed student’s properties worth millions of Naira in the affected hostels.
The sources said though no life was lost, the four hostels were completely destroyed by the inferno.
It was gathered that personnel of the State Fire Service in Gwarzo and some good Samaritans put out the fire.
The Director of the state fire service, Alhaji Balarabe Kabara, confirmed the incident, saying that the fire occurred at about 11:47am when the students were in class.

He also said that no life was lost during the incident.
NAN recalls that it is the third secondary school in the state to be gutted by fire since the Harmattan season set in.
No fewer than seven female students lost their lives in similar incident at Government Girls Secondary School Gezawa in which many others sustained injuries.
Another fire incident had also affected Government Secondary School, Kwankwaso. (NAN)
