Bangkok – Thailand’s military government said it would not allow the country’s former opposition party to meet for any reason.

Prime Minister, Prayuth Chan-ocha, said on Wednesday in Bangkok that government would not allow such because there was a ban on political gatherings.
He said ban on political gatherings was part of the legal framework put into place when it seized power.
Chan-ocha said government had refused requests by the former ruling Pheu Thai Party to meet.
“I will not let them meet. why should I?”
The Democrat Party had asked to hold a party congress to discuss internal party matters.
The Pheu Thai Party was overthrown in a military coup in May 2014. (dpa/NAN)
