Birnin Kebbi – The Kebbi Primary Heath Care Development Agency (KBPHDA) and the European Union (EU) have trained 225 female workers on standard operational procedure on maternal and ante-natal care.
Alh. Faruku Wakili, the Executive Chairman of KBPHDA disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Birnin Kebbi.
Wakili said that the training, in collaboration with the Maternal Neo and Child Health (MNCH), educated the health personnel on ways of improving health care services.
He said that the beneficiaries were also taught on effective delivery of maternal and ante-natal care in the rural areas.

Wakili said the first batch of trainees were from Bunza, Dandi, Suru and Bagudo Local Government Areas, adding that the training would be extended to other areas to achieve wider coverage.
He said similar training was organised at ward levels for effective sensitisation on proper maternal and health care services.
Wakili said that the training would help to reduce maternal and infant mortality rate in the state. (NAN)
