Akure – Dayo Awude, Ondo State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, on Monday urged Sunshine Stars players to be focused and committed ahead of the commencement of 2015/2016 Globacom Premier League season.
Awude addressed the players and technical crew of the team at the Football Village in Akure before their departure for the closed camping billed for Ilorin.
The commissioner commended the leadership of the state football agency for its strides in the area of football development and urged the players to show determination to succeed.
“It is very important for the players to always show determination, commitment and hard work, toward realising the ambition of the governor and soccer-loving people of the state.
“We must not fail to commend the chairman of the state football agency, Akin Akinbobola, in the area of players’ development.
“This can be attested to with several players from the state teams now part of various national teams.
“Let me assure you that we shall place high premium on your welfare this season, as we shall work hard to make you happy at all times in a bid to always get the best from you,’’ he said.
