Abuja – Save the Children, a Non-Governmental Organisation, on Monday said it would be inaugurating a global campaign for improved children’s welfare.
The group said in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the campaign would span the next 15 years.
The statement was signed by the NGO’s Head of Advocacy and Campaigns, Dr David Olayemi.
It explained that the campaign would seek to reduce child mortality, promote improvement in children learning and protection of children.
It said that as part of the activities to kick start the campaign, the organisation would be holding a “Global Day of Action” on Jan. 21.
According to the statement, the Day, which has the theme: “Every Last Child’’, is to ensure that the NGO’s ambition for children by 2030 is achieved.
“The Global Day of Action is a day set aside to carry out various interactive activities towards achieving our ambition for children by 2030.
“This day will touch on our next global campaign, especially how all of us can become campaigners.
“It will shed light on how we can harness our programmes in partnership with the media as a way to ensure all children survive, learn and are protected.
“Our campaign for the next 15 years will contribute to reduction in death of children and improvement in the numbers of children learning,’’ it added.
