Procurement Lagos – The Lagos State Head of Service, Mrs Olabowale Ademola, on Tuesday charged top civil servants to maintain probity and highest professional standards in the discharge of their duties. Ademola spoke at the opening of a four-day Procurement Planning Workshop for Procurement Officers in the state Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) on the procurement plan for the 2016 budget implementation. She urged the workers to support the state government’s public procurement
[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]management system so as to guarantee government integrity and encourage public trust. The Head of Service urged the participants to handle public funds wisely and to be proactive. Mr Akin Onimole, the General Manager of the State Public Procurement Agency, also addressed the participants on the objective of the workshop. He said it was to review the procurement plans prepared by the MDAs for the implementation of the 2016 budget. Onimole said the outcome of the workshop would lead to smooth and proper implementation of the budget. According to him, it will also help to enhance the State Cash Management System by the State Treasury Office. “Officers must ensure that it is workable, practical and will support the attainment of the objectives set out for the year. “The workshop is to align procurement with service delivery strategies of each MDA and to the government policy objectives in general,’’ he said.
