Lagos – One Danjuma Ismail, was on Monday sentenced to 2- day community service without an option of fine for stealing a cell phone valued at N3,000 and N2,0000 cash .
In her judgment, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.O. Osinbajo held that Ismail was guilty of the charges levelled against him.
“Considering the facts of the case, I find the accused guilty as charged,’’ she said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the convict, whose address was not given, was arraigned on a two-count charge of burglary and stealing.
The Prosecutor, Asp. Frank Inah, had told the court that the accused burgled the house of one Mrs Elizabeth De-Abaver, at No. 2, European Quarters, Meiran, a suburb in Lagos, on Jan.31.
“The complainant went to church with her family around 11.45 a.m., one of her children returned home to get something they forgot.

“When she opened the door, she met the accused inside the house with the cell phone and the money.
“She raised an alarm and the convict was apprehended by neighbours and brought to the station,” he said
Inah said the offences contravened Sections 285 and 305 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.(NAN)
