Yola – Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal has assumed office as the new Acting Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa following the dead of his predecessor, Alhaji Shuaibu Yamusa.
Addressing members of the party at the state secretariat in Yola, Bilal promised to operate an open door and that his administration would carry everyone along.
Bilal, who until now was the Michika local government chairman of the party, called for the unity of all party members to enable APC succeed in the state.
“I am here to carry everyone along. I am here to unite all members of the party and to work with the state-led APC governor to move the state forward,” Bilal said.
He assured all elected party members and other stakeholders, including the state governor, members of the National and State Assemblies, of his new leadership support at all time to enable them deliver on the party’s manifesto.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
He cautioned members on rumour mongering and factionalisation of the party in the state, saying that there is no faction but one APC in the state.
Speaking at the occasion, the Deputy Speaker of Adamawa House of Assembly, Mr Sunday Peter, congratulated the acting chairman and declared the support of Adamawa lawmakers to the party.
“The House of Assembly knows only one APC in Adamawa and the Speaker assigned me to declare the House’s full support to your leadership,” Peter said. (NAN)
