Easter: FAAN assures passengers of safety

Lagos  –  The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has assured passengers travelling for the Easter holiday of safety and smooth flight operations.

This is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos by FAAN’s General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mr Yakubu Dati.

The statement said necessary operational and security measures had been put in place in all the airports to ensure hitch-free passage of passengers and cargo during the period.

“Passenger facilitation at all our airports has also been enhanced by the installation of more modern and bigger conveyor belts and metal walk-through detectors.

” The expansion and modernisation of all the airport terminals in the country now provide better ambience for passenger facilitation and commercial offerings,” it said.

statement advised passengers to take advantage of online portals to book their flights ahead of time and avoid carrying unauthorised items.

It added that the Close Circuit Television Cameras (CCTVs) mounted around the airport vicinity was to aid security efforts.

“Furthermore, travellers are encouraged to leave home early on their travel dates in order to complete their boarding facilities in good time.

“We wish all passengers safe and enjoyable Easter celebrations,” the statement said. (NAN)
