Jordan warns its citizens in Belgium to be cautious after attacks

Amman  –  Jordan on Wednesday warned its citizens residing or visiting Belgium to be cautious.

The European country had been placed at threat level 4, which meant serious and imminent threat was in the offing.

Media report said that the Jordanian Foreign Ministry’s mission in Brussels had made the necessary contacts to check on Jordanians in Brussels.

According to the ministry, no Jordanians were harmed during the terrorist attacks on the Belgian capital.

No fewer than 34 people were killed on Tuesday in a series of explosions at Brussels airport and a metro station close to the headquarters of the European Union (EU).

The extremist group Islamic State (IS) has claimed responsibility for the terror attacks, which put Belgium and other European countries on high alert. (Xinhua/NAN)
