Kano – The Kano State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the completion of all ongoing road projects before the arrival of rainy season.
The state Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport, Alhaji Shehu Lambu, made this pledge in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Kano.
He said as part of the efforts to ensure a speedy completion of the projects, the ministry had embarked on the inspection of various projects in the state.
“I recently led a delegation to inspect the multi-million Naira project for the rehabilitation of 63 kilometres Rurum-Saya-Saya-Karfi road in Rano and Kibiya local government areas.
“The contract was awarded by Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje within his 10 months in office,” he said.
The commissioner, who expressed satisfaction with the progress of work, assured the people of the areas that the project would be completed before the rainy season.
He explained that the contractor handling the project had since been mobilised by the state government.
“We are calling on motorists to exercise patience while passing through those routes,” Lambu said.
On Gadon Kaya underpass, the commissioner advised motorists to cooperate with the contractor, so as to enable him complete the work on schedule. (NAN)
