Kaduna – The remains of the kidnapped army officer, Col. Samaila Inusa, were on Friday laid to rest in Kaduna.
The late Inusa was buried at Muslim Cemetery at old NDA site, near NDA Mosque.
The late colonel was serving at the Nigeria Army School of Infantry (NASI) Jaji, Kaduna, before he was kidnapped on Sunday and his body was found on Tuesday.
The Chief of Administration, Nigerian Army, Major.-Gen. Ado Abubakar, told newsmen the deceased was a big loss to Nigeria and the army.
Abubakar, who represent the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. -Gen. Tukur Buratai, promised that the killer of the officer would be hunted down and brought to book to face justice.
Also, the Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Infantry, Maj.-Gen. Kassim Abdulkadir, other senior army officers and family members of the late officer were present during the burial.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that the late officer was abducted on March 27 by gunmen while traveling in his car around Kamazo area, near Refinery Junction in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A statement earlier issued in Abuja by the Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, said Inusa’s body was found on Tuesday evening around Ajyaita village in Kaduna State.
Usman stated that preliminary investigation revealed that the senior officer might have been killed on the same day he was abducted, as the body was found already decomposing.(NAN)
