ABUJA – The police on Wednesday arraigned two factory workers in an Abuja Senior Magistrates’ Court, Life Camp, for assaulting two Expatriate of Golden Silk Company, Abuja.
Saed Adoun, 26 and Chukwudi Allison, 24, both of Golden Silk Company, are standing trial for criminal force and assault.
Mr Philip Apollos, the police prosecutor, said the offence, which contravened the provisions of sections 265 and247 of the Penal Code Law, was committed on Aug.13.
Apollos said the victims, Mr Zhang Zhangliang and Mr Zhang Zhong, lodged a complaint against the accused at the Life Camp Police Station on Aug.14. [eap_ad_1] He alleged that on Aug.13, the accused attacked the complainants unexpectedly in their offices.
He said the complainants, who sustained degrees of injury, were receiving medical treatment at the Nigeria Turkish Nizamiyya Hospital, FCT.
The accused,however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Senior Magistrate, Mr Zubairu Mohammed. however, granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 each and one surety each in like sum.
He said the sureties must have a reasonable means of livelihood and reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
Mohammed also ordered that the sureties must be civil servants not below grade level 10 and adjourned the matter until Aug. 25 for hearing. (NAN)
