Abuja – The 2016 edition of the annual African Fashion Week London (AFWL) is set to hold from September 8 to September 10, the organiers have said.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Chief Executive of AFWL, Mrs Ronke Ademiluyi and made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday.
“The phenomenon that is African style is back in London calling all designers fashionistas and followers of African style.
“Africa Fashion Week London is back for its 6th year, bigger and more stylish than ever.
“We are at the forefront of capturing the surge of the African inspired trends in the fashion industry,’’ Ademiluyi said.
According to her, the event will showcase exclusive catwalk appearances from up-and-coming names, established designers and the best of African models from the continent.
She added that the 2016 edition of the AFWL would feature Nigerian international afrobeat artiste,Yemi Alade as its brand ambassador.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that AFWL which started in 2011 is a platform that showcases the work of African and African inspired designers in the UK and worldwide.
It celebrates and captures the surge of African inspired trends in the fashion industry. (NAN)
